Key Club Sponsorships – High Schools
Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorships and provide college scholarships for the Key Club students. We launched and mentor the first STEM-based Key Club to support the development and implementation of technology and science-based solutions as service projects. We are currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis Key clubs:
We offer all Key Club seniors the opportunity to apply for a $1,000 college scholarship. The application process begins in early March, with the awards being made in April. In 2024 we awarded a total of nine scholarships, which is one of our largest awards to date.
Kiwanis Builders Club Sponsor – Middle Schools
Clubs are established in middle school (6-8th grade) to provide students the opportunity to work together in service projects for their school and community. Helps build leadership and character and encourages loyalty to school, community and nation.
We support Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships. We sponsor the following Kiwanis Builders clubs:
Clubs are established in elementary school to provide students the opportunity to work together in service projects for their school and community. Helps build leadership and character and encourages loyalty to school and community.
We are currently sponsoring the following K-Kids clubs:
Terrific Kids is a student recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance. Students work with their classroom teacher and establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, or schoolwork.

Help Kids Bring Up Grades (BUGS) – Elementary Schools
BUGS is a program that recognizes elementary students who raise their grades or maintain good grades from one grading period to the next. Students are motivated to excel because they set their own goals.
John Giles Silver Pen Writing Contest – Elementary Schools
An annual fourth grade writing contest where each school selects a topic to be written on, each teacher then selects the best essay from their class. The school then submits the essay’s to Kiwanis for selection of a school winner. The winning student is awarded a pen, certificate and a gold dollar coin.
